Margaret Ryan serves as a great role model to students wanting to break into the industry.

I smiled to myself while reading Margarets answer to the last question &quot;and the ability to shrug off rejection (daily).&quot; This is soooo true and is something every young practitioner will have to come to terms with at some point!

I have recently landed a summer placement marketing a new Ice lodge which is opening out in Norway... taking rejection from editors can send your enthusiasm and mood plummeting but you just have to get back on the phone and try again!
I also recently found out that some editors still prefer the old fashioned ways of communicating, posting a pile of letters and press releases to relevant editors was my job for the morning! Often using email is unreliable especially if they have attatchments.
