KCD, the public relations and event production company started bylate Vogue editor Kezia Keeble, her late husband John Duka, and ex-husband Paul Cavaco, has been named Banana Republic’s agency of record. Banana Republic was formerly with LaForce+Stevens. Other KCD clients have included Calvin Kelin, Marc Jacobs, Victoria's Secret, and Anna Sui.

Gap, Inc has brought KCD on board to help plan events, fashion shows, and pitch long-lead stories.

Banana Republic will keep it's in-house team, led by PR director Tara McCollum.

KCD Publicist for Richard Tyler, Mary Cris Paulin, shares her thoughts on working Fashion PR:

Mc: So what are the ups and downs of this work?

MP: Sometimes you wish you had more time to take a break. It's a small company, and you sometimes have to work at night when you've been working a full day. And you have to be on, which can be a little tough sometimes. There used to be a slow season in fashion -- late summer. That doesn't really happen anymore, now it just keeps going. Sometimes you come across people with an attitude, but working for a PR firm, you have to rise to the occasion and deal with them in a nice way. I've always felt that whether it's the receptionist or the president, everyone should be treated the same way. The good parts are that the work is always changing and I like the people I work with, and also that you get invited to industry events, which is fun. These people become your friends.

Mc: So, what aptitudes does someone in your field need?

MP: I'd suggest studying communications -- public relations, advertising, marketing. You also need writing skills. You have to be outgoing, personable; you have to be able to think on your feet and juggle a lot.

How hard is it to acquire an internship with KCD?

    Do you take college students?

We’re both in our senior year at a Private Boarding High School and we’re looking at colleges in New York.

We are both interested in Public Relations and would like any data you have to give us.

Meet Crosby Noricks

Hi. I'm Crosby, Founder of PR Couture, Fashion Brand Strategist and PR Girl Mentor. I care about supporting and celebrating fashion publicists as well as helping companies connect with their audiences in more meaningful ways. Recently, iMedia included me in their annual list of 25 Internet Marketing Leaders and Innovators, along with people from Starbucks, Twitter and Volkswagon, which I think is pretty neat. Like Elle Woods, I am a Gemini-vegetarian (that's about where the similarities end). Let's connect: Check out my full bio, Brand Elixir sessions for brands or shoot me a note at
