  • 7. Not learning about marketing your product. Find a good marketer or sales rep and explain your product and sales vision then listen and decide. Know your marketing capabilities or find an expert.

I just read the article questioning the value of fashion week. I believe that Fashion Weeks will continue to have less meaning as time goes on. Maybe because of social media, fashion bloggers, and the fact that there’s so much fashion happening everywhere that never gets to Fashion Week, particularly with indie designers. Fashion Week doesn’t necessarily mean ‘the best’ or most innovative.

      Hi Sandi,

I agree that the purpose and emphasis of “fashion weeks” is changing, but I do hope there is still a place for all the event and spectacle – the energy and of course, the clothes just does not translate quite as well digitally! I hope we can figure out a way to have both elements.

      Best,

      Crosby

Meet Crosby Noricks

Hi. I'm Crosby, the founder of PR Couture and a fashion brand strategist. I care about supporting and celebrating fashion publicists as well as helping rad companies connect with their audiences in more meaningful ways. Recently, iMedia included me in their annual list of 25 Internet Marketing Leaders and Innovators, along with people from Starbucks, Twitter and Volkswagon, which I think is pretty neat. Like Elle Woods, I am a Gemini-vegetarian (that's about where the similarities end). Let's connect: Check out my full bio, Brand Elixer sessions or shoot me an electronic communiqué.
