PR Couture’s Crosby Noricks Wins Blogger of the Year

Crosby Noricks

We are so excited to announce that PR Couture founder Crosby Noricks was awarded the coveted “Blogger of the Year,” title at last night’s Influence SD Awards, held at AnthologyFinalists were people’s choice (thank you very much for all your work in clicking that gray arrow green) and the winners were then chosen by a team of judges.

In addition to her award, Crosby was gifted with a trip to stay at the Tenaya Lodge in Yosemite. Hey, even hard-working social media superstars need to unplug and say hi to the trees every once in awhile! And in case you were wondering, she’s wearing the Pandora dress by Hayden Harnett.

Over 60 finalists were nominated across 12 categories. #influenceSD is a San Diego based awards event created by Melani Gordon and Matt Browne, to unite champions in new media. Special thanks to Alyson Rybar of Stalwart Communications (finalist in the Agency of the Year category) for the photos! Fashion PR News: Cameo PR Signs LaLucca, Olia Designs

Cameo PR, a New York-based boutique fashion public relations firm that specializes in accessories, has added Miami based handbag designer LaLucca, as well as New York based jewelry designer Olia Designs to it’s roster. Cameo will handle all media relations, product placement, website and collection launches, celebrity endorsement and special projects.

LaLucca Art Bag

LaLucca has both a signature collection and an art bag collection, the latter is bags are made from hand painted canvases that are all signed and dated by the artist, who is also the designer’s husband. Head designer Laura Pimentel was born in the Dominican Republic and trained in Europe and the US, and this cross-cultural exposure contributed to her distinctive design aesthetic and studies in both interior and accessories design.

Gravity Earrings, Olia Designs

Olia Designs has easy to wear pieces at great price points that can be found in select boutiques throughout the US, Canada, and Asia. Olia creates pieces that are hand made and reikied with love in Williamsburg, NY. Designs focus on symmetry and asymmetry, perfectly faceted and imperfectly rough semi-precious stones, innovative and ancient-inspired color combination, to produce an aesthetic both alluring and meaningful. A reiki practitioner, Olia clears the stones and uses reiki to enhance the energy of her jewelry, so that each piece can transfer its positive attributes to the wearer. As a result, each and every piece of Olia’s collection is an original with its own enchanting personality.

Front Row Fashion PR: Melt Management Brings AU Brands Stateside

Front Row Fashion PR features insights from successful Fashion PR pro’s on a variety of topics relevant to the marketing professional and fashion designer.

Melissa Trovato is President and Founder of Melt Management, a NY-based fashion PR and marketing firm that bridges the Australian and US markets to help Australian fashion brands like Seventh Wonderland, TL Wood and Natalie Chapman to create long-term, sustainable futures in the United States. As Melt prepares for Rosemount Australia Fashion Week in Sydney in May,  PR Couture checked in to learn more about fashion in Australia and Melissa’s thoughts of successfully introducing your brand into new markets. What is your background? How did you get started in Fashion PR?

I have been in the fashion industry for 15 years and I have been exposed to all facets of the business from manufacturing, sales, management, design, and of course marketing and PR. It was important to me to gain a strong insight and experience in all areas of the business as this really helps me to build solid marketing programs for my designers. As the General Manager for Tigerlily and Vice President of Jets Swimwear I have had the luxury of handling big campaign budgets. The biggest lesson I have learned is that it is not the amount of dollars spent on a campaign, it is the strength of the concept, product, and creative team on board. The most successful campaign I have worked on was also the most cost-sensitive.

What is the main goal of Melt Management?

At Melt, we provide a full service product to our designers. We believe that sales, marketing and business management go hand-in-hand. We do not just “represent” designers, we “manage” them. We offer a one-stop-shop service for emerging and established brands making it affordable to obtain both marketing and sales functions. We try to eliminate that third party dynamic and become an extension of our client’s business. Our methodology has proven successful thus far.
