Florence is not only the focal point of the Italian Renaissance but a city embracing new technologies and new ways to communicate. A hub of cultural and style exchange, it's no wonder the city sees its fair share of foreign students, particularly those studying fashion and art. Local university IED Florence now offers two different year-long master programs for students interested in advanced coursework in Fashion Events and Public Relations, as well as Fashion Communications and Marketing. The Fashion PR & Events program gives students the opportunity to promote fashion brands, designers and artisans as well as gain insight into how to execute integrated communication strategies, including social media. This year-long program is held in English and starts in April 2013.

The Fashion Communications and Marketing course at IED Florence is in collaboration with LuisaviaRoma (a top Italian luxury e-commerce website) and starts in February 2013. This course focuses on the fashion industry and the central role of communication. Particular emphasis will be given to new media communication methods and opportunities, either through blogs, social media, web, or video as well as all the tools susceptible to boost the communicative power of any event, brand or product. Our students collaborate on projects with important brands as Fendi, Roy Rogers, Versace, and Emilio Pucci. The program ends with an important event promoted by Pitti Immagine, an organization that produces international fashion and lifestyle fairs.
