Campaigns We Love: Sseko 30 Ways in 30 Days

Who: Sseko, a humanitarian brand that makes chic sandals, clutches and totes in Africa and 30 fashion & style bloggers, including PR Couture intern @mandavision, (pictured).  I picked out the black sandals and the rectangle mojave accessory c/o Sseko, and tried out my new lens on Amanda.

What: Each year, Sseko holds a “30 Ways, 30 Days to Educate Women in Africa” campaign to raise awareness for their line of shoes that are employing and educating women in Africa to help break the cycle of poverty (check out our in-depth post and pictures from last year). During the campaign, Sseko spotlights a new ambassador every day for 30 days to highlight the many ways Ssekos sandals can be styled.  Sseko hires recent secondary school graduates for a nine month period to live and work together, while earning money that will go directly towards their university education. Without Sseko, most of these women would not have the chance to earn the income they do to attend university.

When: Summer, 2013

Why we love it: The seasonal tie-in (get it!), celebration of personal style and support of a business that helps women become doctors, lawyers, politicians, writers and teachers, gets a wholehearted yes and more yes from team PR C. Plus, this year Sseko plans to keep the ambassadors engaged-and involved-all year around. Done and Done.

Meet Crosby Noricks

Hi. I'm Crosby, the founder of PR Couture and a fashion brand strategist. I care about supporting and celebrating fashion publicists as well as helping rad companies connect with their audiences in more meaningful ways.
