Meet Your Judges
Judges for the 2017 BCAs include esteemed leaders in the fashion and lifestyle industry that range in experience including, but not limited to senior PR professionals, members of the media, entrepreneurs, agency owners and educators.
Judges are carefully selected by PR Couture and chosen in result of their professional resume, industry achievements and broad level of experience.
Alle Fister is the Principal and Founder of Bollare Communications, a full service beauty, fashion and lifestyle communications firm. Fister began her career as an early employee at online retailer, SHOPBOP, where she headed the brand's communications- helping grow the business through a blend of traditional public relations efforts. Fister forged thoughtful working relationships with the editorial community, as an early innovator to digital commerce publicity. The efforts were a success, and as Shopbop was acquired by Amazon, Fister bootstrapped her communications firm with Shopbop as her first client. Today Bollare has over 100 clients across many facets of the beauty and fashion industry and has added scopes of innovation in contemporary digital media and a deep touch within the celebrity and editorial communities in an increasing world where cross-collaboration is emerging as vital. Bollare’s 60+ person team operates between agency presence in Melbourne, Los Angeles, Tribeca and East London.
Brook Blashill founded and leads Ogilvy's retail division - The Boutique - providing brand strategy for fashion, luxury and e-commerce clients with best-in-class marketing, communications and digital campaigns. A frequent retail commentator to industry publications including WWD, AdWeek and Digiday, Brooke has been named to the "40 under 40" by PR Week. During NYFW A/W 2016, she launched a propriety research study examining the thoughts and behaviors of the new male shopper, which was covered by top press ranging from USA Today to GQ.
Callan Green is Director of Social Media at L'Oréal where she oversees a team of four social media strategists in the creation and execution of the social media content, campaign launches, influencer relations and retail partnerships. Key highlights include partnering with Brand Communications to manage the launch of the L’Oreal League, a year long paid influencer program with 15 elite bloggers signed to the brand for an ongoing partnership, and amplifying the brand’s earned influencer strategy by implementing Content Glam Road Shows and regional influencer events. Callan's previous work experience includes 7th and Wit, Sony and Bailey Gardiner.
Founder of Brevity, an SF-based apparel brand focused on smart essentials for your work-life wardrobe, Dara Elliot formerly led digital marketing and PR in-house at Sephora and Swarovski. Prior agency experience includes Elle Communications and Bollare, and at startups Darby Smart and Trendalytics.
Former Communications Director of INVISTA Apparel, Linda is a co-founder of Matchbook Company's costume designer division and manages the marketing and branding of the company. Brand collaborations include programs with Banana Republic, GAP, Macy’s, SONY, QVC, HSN, The Limited, Express, Bloomingdales, Coach, Prada, Stella and Dot, Bauble Bar and more. At Matchbook Company, Linda also led the sales and marketing for the Cambridge Satchel Company entry into the US market, helping to drive retail placements and grow the start up to a 5 million dollar business in 2 years. In a prior role with DuPont as the Global Brand Director of the Apparel Division, Linda helped in the start up of brands such as J Brand, SPANX, UnderAmour, lululemon to support the growth of DuPont fibers.
Liza Kindred is a leading expert on how technology is changing commerce, fashion, and mindfulness. She has spent the last 15 years working with Fortune 500 clients, consulting for top publishers, and advising dozens of startups—and is the author of the forthcoming book The Future of Commerce (O’Reilly, 2017). Liza spent six years as the Managing Partner of cutting-edge open-source-development company Lullabot, which produced award winning work for clients including Sony Music, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Viacom, and MSNBC. In 2011, she founded Third Wave Fashion, a consultancy that helped create and define fashion tech, where she has helped companies like Microsoft, Vodafone, Bloomingdales, Zappos, Hearst, and Condé Nast blend fashion together seamlessly with technology. She was recently nominated for the 2017 Women in Retail Women2Watch list. Her work has been covered by the New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Entrepreneur Magazine, and the Wall Street Journal.
Lorraine is a longtime fashion journalist with a special interest in the intersection of fashion, entrepreneurship, sustainability + tech (a space she coined FEST). She is the founder and host of the Spirit of 608 podcast and the founder of PressDope by Spirit of 608, a PR alternative for FEST brands.
A power publicist with power guns, Matthew comes up with marketing strategies and social-media solutions for everyone from Benefit to Suitsupply. Matthew’s first industry job was at Tommy Hilfiger in Seoul, Korea as a style assistant. After moving back to the States, he landed a position at KCD Worldwide working on the CFDA Awards, Marc Jacobs, Chloe and Vesace. He then directed the men's fashion group at Laforce + Stevens before moving to Valentino as director of PR for the US. Harvey Weinstein and Tamara Mellon then poached him to relaunch the iconic fashion house of Halston as the Vice President of Global Communications. Continuing his international reach, Matthew joined the London-based Mission Media team as Executive Vice President and built the agency's US headquarters in New York City where he managed clients such as Montblanc, Belvedere, Nokia, Thomas Pink, and Starwood Hotels. Finally branching out on his own, Matthew’s agency, The Eighth Floor, represents some of the worlds most prestigious fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands including Black Halo, Philip Treacy, Pepsi, Sotheby's, Parke & Ronen, Benefit Cosmetics, Intermix, and Kerzner Properties including The Atlantis and One and Only Resorts.
Rosanne Hart has more than 30 years experience in providing national and international integrated marketing communications services for the fashion, beauty, health, fitness, financial services and luxury products industries as the owner of The Hart Agency, Inc. Clients included Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Saint Laurent Rive Gauche, Daniel Hecter, Barboglio, Victor Costa, Benetton, Palais Royal, Peacock Alley, Sally Beauty Supply, Revlon, Diamond Information Center (DeBeers), as well as Fortune 500 companies including Pfizer, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Hoffman-LaRoche, and J.C. Penney. Rosanne is also an adjunct faculty and lecturer at Southern Methodist University, teaching Communications Studies and Fashion Media & Public Relations. She holds the APR accreditation from the Public Relations Society of America.
Wendy Bendoni is a Professor and Chair of the Marketing & Fashion Marketing Deparment in the School of Business at Woodbury University. Her research is on social personas of online consumers and luxury marketing. Currently she is a luxury lecturer for Carl Benz Academy and in digital storytelling at Zurich University of School of Management and Law. Bloomsbury recently published her new book called Social Media for Fashion Marketing; Storytelling in the Digital World. She is also an established International forecaster for the past two decades for WGSN and WWDMAGIC and has been featured in Forbes, WWD, and Huffington Post.

Work may be entered on behalf of individuals, agencies, and companies. Be sure to get client permission if necessary before submitting.
Absolutely. We are happy to accept submissions from anywhere, as long as they are written in English.
the BCAs is a global online award program open to agencies, in-house teams, brands, individuals, media and vendors working in the fashion and lifestyle space.

Awards are judged, where appropriate, using the traditional strategic planning model of RPIE (research, planning, implementation, evaluation). Judges use a matrix to evaluate each entry.
