Fashion Week PR: KCD Introduces Digital Fashion Shows for Press, Buyers

We are fashion purists and we believe in the runway show. This online experience will replicate the pureness of a live runway show, the only thing this doesn’t give you is the glass of champagne. Bring your own. – Ed Filipowski, KCD Co-President

So many shows…so little time! This season, leading fashion PR and production agency KCD Digital will provide a virtual solution to the over-scheduling woes plaguing press and buyers during February New York Fashion Week. The platform, developed in partnership with King & Partners, a NYC-based digital agency, is available at www.digitalfashionshows.com, (currently not much to see  – hopefully they will make full use of the landing page soon!) and will allow invited guests  to watch a pre-taped show at a specific time.

However, the platform is more than just a private viewing of the fashion show itself, KCD has aimed to provide press and buyers with all the pertinent information they need about each look, including run of show information, photographs of each look providing front, back and detail shots of shoes, jewelry and accessories, as well as hair make-up and product particulars for beauty stories.

Viewers can save favorites, easily access bio and credit information and even watch behind-the-scenes videos with designers. For bloggers and online publications, show videos are embeddable and downloadable.

While access to this level of show information is phenomenal, I hope that press, including bloggers, use the KCD prepared content to supplement posts, rather than simply pasting in PR approved content, ensuring that there is a diversity of perspectives and unique content filling up our feeds this season!

Prabal Gurung’s inaugural lCB collection for Onward Kashiyama will kick off the new platform, airing on Wednesday, February 15th at 11:30 a.m.

On December 14, Apreció will celebrate the launch of Hasana Inc., a commerce-driven initiative to raise money for the Apareció Foundation’s scholarship and mentor program. 100% of profits, after cost, directly benefits the Foundation. There will be two events – a mobile app launch party at W Hotel in Chicago (the Hasana app will allow shoppers to tag and share finds through social media), and launch party in New York City at the Merchant’s Square Building in TriBeca  for the eCommerce site. Participating jewelry, accessories, fashion and shoe designers will be showcasing their wares, and each location will feature special guest bloggers and DJs with live UStream Coverage.

Inspired by the mission of Apreció to provide opportunities for young women to become leaders, to think critically, and to increase their skills and confidence so they are able to make positive, high impact changes in their lives, PR Couture has signed on as a media/blog sponsor. Intern Kalinda Panzholer will be on hand in TriBeca live-tweeting from the event – so look for her initials [KP] on the Twitter account that evening. Other sponsors include Guest of a Guest in Chicago and Gotham Magazine.

We’d love to see you on Wednesday and please help get the word out about these two great events!
