Big exciting news!
PR Couture has been nominated for Blogger Of The Year by an organization called Influence SD. There’s going to be a swanky award show and everything, and I have a Hayden Harnett dress just waiting in my closet for this kind of occasion. Please help us win by clicking the arrow to the left of the PR Couture image. You can vote once per day.
The blogging community is picking up steam here in San Diego and it would be great visibility for all the hard work PR Couture has put in since 2006. Your help promoting this and putting us in the top running is much appreciated.
Here is a sample tweet to make it easy: One of my faves, @PR_Couture is up for Blogger of the Year. Click the arrow to vote her up! http://ow.ly/1ihpH #influenceSD

Have you heard about WikiFashion? It’s basically Wikipedia for fashion and it’s a total duh to make sure all your clients have their own profiles. Madeline of Lola PR came up with the concept and has been generously adding profiles herself, despite the fact that as a Wiki, it’s basically open for anyone to edit. Check out PR Couture’s WikiFashion page, if you’re interested.
Recognizing an opportunity, Madeline is now opening up WikiFashion to partners like tech savvy fashion PR agencies to 1) become experts in the editing process and 2) be recommended on WikiFashion for profile development. Basically you’d be saying that for a fee, you are willing to work with brands and fashion personalities to get their pages up and keep them maintained. What a great way to get in front of new potential clients!

No commentsOn Saturday I had the amazing opportunity to present about fashion PR and emerging trends to the Public Relations Student Society of America’s (PRSSA) National Conference – which was held, conveniently, in downtown San Diego. In the presentation I discussed some of the more traditional tenets of fashion PR and then moved into how the fashion industry and entrepreneurs have harnessed the power of the self-publishing web 2.0 to provide countless new ways to engage and monitor brands online.
I have uploaded the presentation to SlideShare but received so many inquiries about the resources and must-read section of the presentation that I wanted to make these links their own post on PR Couture. I’ve also added a few on.
Thank you to everyone who came to hear me speak, especially those of you who stood in the cold afterward to ask a few questions and take a photo. I can’t tell you what it means to visit with and get to know my readers. I was inspired by your passion for the profession and can’t wait to see how your careers unfold.
Ok Schmaltziness aside, here are the Fashion PR Industry Must-Reads:
Blogs/Online Fashion Media
Independent Fashion
Social Shopping
Enjoy!
