Pullquest, a newly-launched platform for PR pro’s and stylists alike, aims to revolutionize one of the most tedious aspects of both our jobs: sample requests.

Set up like a social profile, Pullquest offers stylists a digitized version of the showroom experience. Stylists and brands send “connect requests” to view each others’ offerings. Once users connect, they can browse available items, communicate via the internal chat, and submit pull requests. Brands have the option to approve or decline requests, giving them full control over what goes out and to/from whom. Co-Founder Natalie Meyer emphasizes the importance that brands remain in control of their message.

With a combination of an entrepreneurial education and firsthand showroom experience, Natalie realized the main pain points brands deal with when dealing with celebrity and editorial stylists: sending hundreds of emails daily to approve pulls and chase down pieces. Her team knew there had to be a better way.

Alex Perry of Perry Rose Media interviewed Natalie about the platform’s functions, and the journey that lead to its creation.

WHAT’S YOUR BACKGROUND?

I was born and raised in Switzerland and came to USA to work as the business manager for a fashion designer in LA (Laura Basci). I am a dual citizen and just graduated with a Master’s degree from USC.

WHAT PROBLEM DOES PULLQUEST SOLVE?

Sifting through hundreds of emails and chasing down pieces.

HOW DID THIS ALL GET STARTED?

I started to talk to a friend who was in the MBA program at USC. We thought it would be so much easier for everyone if there was an online platform where brands can show their pieces for stylists to select from. Our vision was streamlining the entire process while also increasing a brand’s or PR showroom’s business opportunities and giving them a platform to expand their network.

HAVE YOU ALWAYS BEEN PASSIONATE ABOUT CONNECTING PEOPLE?

Yes, it’s always been a part of what I do and enjoy. Even in past jobs, I was the communications specialist. For me, its always about people and relationships. For the fashion designer, my job was taking care of stylist relationships, throwing events; keeping people connected. At Pullquest, we also make sure that the brands and stylists who work together do not lose that human interaction – by connecting them through our chat, in-person pick ups and drop offs and events we plan on hosting to bring all members together.

HOW IS PULLQUEST DIFFERENT?

We’ve been working with celebrity stylists Jeanne Yang (who styles Keanu Reeves, Robert Downey Jr. and many more) and Tanya Gill (who styles Jane Fonda) and designer Deborah Sawaf (who owns the handbag label Thale Blanc) to advise on the project which has been amazing. You need the backing of people who have been in the industry and who can really support and advise you in the right direction; that’s really what makes us stand out.

WHAT’S ONE NEW FEATURE YOU’RE EXCITED ABOUT?

We recently introduced rentals and brands can put up what they like; this is a perfect opportunity for a PR showroom, too. It’s great for couture brands who create one-of-a-kind pieces that might not sell after they’ve been pulled a couple of times. Instead, rent them out and add an extra revenue stream to your business.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Pullquest focuses on brands and stylists, but we aim to expand into the influencer space

Ready to get started? Stylists can sign up for free and Los Angeles-based brands can offer same-day door to door delivery.
