As a fashion publicist, I’m well aware that New York Fashion Week is quickly creeping up, and that with all the planning comes location scouting, generating partnerships, the invitation list, and, as we get closer to showtime, the dreaded seating chart. Beyond fashion week, there are a multitude of smaller shows, presentations and events throughout the year that require logistical prowess. Thankfully there is a new tool that aims to make the seating chart process part of the digital revolution; with AllSeated.com, gone are the days of confusing seating charts created with pencil and paper,  boards or Excel.

A free cloud-based virtual program, All Seated allows event planners to create and view venue maps, manage floor plans, table layouts, build guest lists, make seating arrangements and define the operational setup of an event. The service contains floor plans for several venues, but if your chosen venue is not already programmed in the system, you (or the vendor) can enter exact floor plans along with table and chair sizing, spacing specifications, potential placements and more.

Guests can be imported from social media, email accounts or Excel sheets, so everything is in one place.  Anyone on your team can login to the system to adjust the seating chart from any computer or tablet. And, if an editor feud arises, you can easily change their seat assignments prior to the event. We will be taking total advantage of this service for press previews, galas and media dinners, too!
