“The La Jolla Fashion Film Festival in 2011 will be the largest gathering of fashion film creators in world history!” – Fred Sweet, Producer, LJFFF
Last year, the fashion film received a warm west coast welcome from the La Jolla Fashion Film Festival. This year the festival returns with a new venue, films and several directors who are making the trip to “the jewel of San Diego,” for warm summer nights, red carpet arrivals, industry seminars, film screenings and after-parties, oh my!
Festival producer Fred Sweet had this to say about this year’s two-day event:
“Our new venue, the Museum of Contemporary Art, is a 500 seat theater with a state of the art projection and sound system and makes watching the films an entirely different experience. The directors of twelve of the films are attending, as well as producers like Melody Sylvester from RSA Films in London, which provides some serious networking opportunities for film making professional! We also have a never-seen-before Andy Warhol portrait art installation at the after party at Barfly in La Jolla.”
The LJFFF is designed to showcase the best in fashion films and represent both classic and experimental approaches to film. Films will also be featured on the Fashion Film Network’s digital stream both before, during, and after the Festival for added exposure. This year’s seminar and panel based discussions including; how web tech trends are impacting the distribution and creation of fashion films, social planning for branding campaigns, and increasing distribution through thought leaders and influencers.
It’s not too late to grab a ticket to San Diego (you can even come sleep on my couch!) and enjoy some beautiful weather, people and be inspired by the latest fashion films!
