Working with Nanette Lepore’s front of house was a great experience. Christy Hood of Hood PR was one of the only practitioners to care that my goal of NYFW coverage was not just the runway shows themselves but to highlight the hard work that goes into their production. She kindly forwarded on a few interview questions to Nanette Lepore’s internal PR team which was much appreciated. Checking into the show was a breeze as well, I had my actual invite and my name was on the list – surprising how few times this winning combination seemed to actually happen during the week!

On the seats at the show were small bottles of Nanette Lepore perfume, as well as some literature about Save the Garment Center, an organization raising awareness about pressures apparel businesses are facing as real estate and zoning laws turn the area into a commercial center. If you are in New York, they are looking for several volunteer positions, including a PR Coordinator.

The show itself, which can be watched on the Nanette Lepore facebook page was filled with dreamy, island colors, brought to life by uplifting modern calypso music, Kings of Convenience, and female vocals I know I have somewhere on my iTunes but can’t place!  The models wore brightly colored hidden wedges, and the floral prints and effusive tones were often anchored with khaki, though heady florals and stripes drove some of the most interesting looks. I was able to sit in the second row for this show, and love some of the shots I was able to capture!
