PR Agency Launches Hispanic Division with Indie GoGo Campaign

While it may be obvious to think of crowdfunding as a viable fundraising tool for fashion designers, Los-Angeles based entertainment firm Lynch Archer PR has turned to Indie GoGo to raise capital in support of a new Hispanic division, LAPR Latino. The US Latino audience is about 32 million, or about 18% of the US population yet in film and yet latinos only represent 2-4% of those on television. With this new division, LAPR seeks to bring diversity to film and TV.

Timed to coincide with Hispanic Heritage Month, the objective of the LAPR Latino two-week IndieGoGo campaign is to raise venture capital for the creation of a multicultural PR division that will provide Latino talent – actors, comedians, musicians, athletes, directors and producers vital media representation within mainstream consumer and endemic entertainment media outlets as well as Hispanic media categories and bilingual media platforms.

After working with Jennifer Lopez over the last year, spearheading traditional and digital media efforts for the launch of the pop icon’s cable television network NUVOtv, the only English-language network providing programming to the bilingual Latino audience, Cuban-American CEO Cheryl Lynch saw the need for this type of agency first-hand. In working with NUVOtv, LAPR is credited with growing the cable net NUVOtv’s media impressions to 600+ million while also increasing the net’s presence within it’s respective social media platforms by 82%.

To support the crowdfunding campaign, LAPR distributed a digital-only wire release and asked clients to help get the word out. Donation perks range from exclusive access to audience seating at popular TV show tapings to hard-to-come-by invitations to red carpet events.

The campaign ends October 15 and to date has only raised a small fraction of it’s $25,000 goal – leaving many perks wide open for last-minute funding!
