Our dear friend Sarah Conley over at Styleit (a fab beauty and style read if you have yet to visit) has awarded PR Couture with a Brillante Award!
She says, “Crosby of PR Couture … is by far one of most intelligent and well spoken women I have even encountered. Besides personally being wonderful, her innovative blog fills a much ignored niche in the fashion PR blogosphere.”
Aw shucks. We do sure love being called smart. Now, as part of the award, PR Couture is tasked with sharing this award with 7 favorite blogs.
Ruby Press – Melissa Davis of Ruby PR keeps a blog that is full of unexpected goodies, from favorite San Francisco haunts to home decor. Ruby Press does a great job of being a stylish blog resource without nary a mention of agency sales speak. To that point, the blog housed in my RSS reader not under Public Relations, but my favorite category, “Neat Bits and Things.” I am routinely enchanted with Melissa and her team’s eye for style and appreciation for things, like Polaroids, that are close to my own heart.
Carrie and Danielle – If you have yet to read Style Statement, plan on curling up in a chair and experiencing a new approach to self-discovery that asks, in addition to a million other questions that you will eat up, “what outfit would you choose if you had to wear it for the rest of your life?” Or something to that effect. Then, enjoy prolonging the pleasure with author’s Carrie and Danielle’s engaging blog, which offers its readers a chance to weigh in on a daily question. Love it!
The Moldy Doily – I love reading Kime Buzzelli’s The Moldy Doily for the simple reason that it encourages me live inside my own decoration, to paint, to shop thrift stores and to get off the couch more often and out into the world.
The Coutorture Learning Annex – Coutorture is a network of fashion and beauty bloggers who are all about collaboration and shared knowledge. To that effect, the Learning Annex offers blog tips, strategy, and is home to Coutorture’s Blog Talk Radio, which interviews those in the know (ahem) about topics of particular interest to the Coutorture community. I always find something to ponder here.
Copenhagen Cycle Chic – If you have followed my tweets, you may have gotten some insight into my new bicycle obsession as well as my difficulty in actually getting my new bike to work. I blame Copenhagen Cycle Chic for all of this, how is it possible to resist the allure of CCC’s stylish lady bikers with red heels, dreamy photography and oh so chic tagline, “Copenhagen loves you. And your bike. But mostly you on your bike.” Well, it’s about as easy to resist as a cupcake.
Style Notes – Style Notes is evil. It will encourage impulse internet shopping purchases while you are supposed to be working. But, since those purchases will be at about a billion percent off, you will feel less guilty. Basically, Style Notes combs the internet looking for the best sales and deals. However, instead of just being all “Nordstrom is having a sale,” Style Notes actually suggests specific items as well. And they have pretty good taste so I usually want whatever it is they suggest. Evil.
SanDiegoIsh – I don’t really like to broadcast this much, but I live in San Diego. Saaannn Diegooo. Ok. So until recently there hasn’t been a blog presence that has taken it upon themselves to share a bit the tiny SD indie culture on the web. SanDiegoIsh is a collaborative effort and yeah they do talk about the Padre’s and other things I don’t care about, but they also sometimes announce last minute shows of bands I like and have been on the ball with San Diego’s first Fashion Week, happening in September. So hello SanDiegoIsh, I appreciate you and am one of your 176 subscribers. Enjoy your Brillante.
