NYC PR Girls is a must-read site for anyone in the PR industry, especially younger professionals. Each writer works for a different PR agency and brings her own mix of personal anecdotes, tips and personality to the site. To kick off a new series on PR Couture featuring fashion PR girl (and guy) must-haves in fashion, beauty and technology, I asked Megan, Adriana and Mary Ann to share their top essentials moving into 2012. According to Mary Anne, the classic black blazer can take business casual up a notch, top off an interview outfit, or stay classy during a night out. “Finding one style and brand of blazer that you love, and buy a couple to keep in rotation.”

Another great thing about blazers is they come in a range of price points, cuts and fabrics! While I love the Vivienne Westwood Red Label blazer in the top right, it’s still a steep investment ($590) despite being a gillion percent off on Net a Porter. The MNG tuxedo style blazer is perfect for winter and just $96.

Adrianna would be lost without her phone.  While it’s practical, it’s the applications she cannot live without. “Instagram helped us take the nyc PR girls twitter feed up a notch and kicked off our tumblr account.  TripIt is an awesome application to keep travel itineraries and plans organized.”

Meg loves nail polish – current favorites include Essie nail polish in Wicked, OPI nail polish in Lincoln Park After Dark, and Julep nail vernis in January.  Being in beauty PR, Meg really believes a chic manicure and lovely arm candy (gold bangles on top of her men’s gold watch are daily needs) keeps her looking polished and staying sane.  On weeks she can’t get a manicure, she keeps Julep Essential Cuticle Oil at her desk so she can keep nails looking clean while typing away.
