Hi, my name is Crosby and I’m the founder of PR Couture. Getting a great job in public relations isn’t easy. When I was first starting my career, I had zero industry connections and only a vague idea of what PR was, exactly.
I started PR Couture because I wanted to share what I was learning about fashion PR. And because frankly, I wasn’t getting that warm fuzzy feeling when I tried to connect with publicists for career insight or support.
Two years into my career, I had earned a Master’s Degree in Communication and was technically working in my dream field (connecting with fashion editors daily and a huge jewelry closet to play in), but I still had a ton of questions. Like, how do you build relationships with editors, deal with stressful, high-pressure work environments, and get clients (or your boss) to trust you enough to approve creative, impactful campaign ideas?
With PR Couture as a platform, I started interviewing and building relationships with people who answered my questions and offered me support; I worked in-house, freelance, and agency-side; I went from being an assistant account coordinator (one tiny step above an intern) to creating an award-winning social media department before making PR Couture and a small consulting practice my full-time, six-figure business.

PRISM was developed for aspiring publicists who are interested in exploring a PR career in industries like fashion, lifestyle, consumer, hospitality and entertainment. Over three months, you’ll complete a variety of exercises that will help you to:

- Learn how to play to your strengths and secure an amazing PR job or internship
- Understand brand positioning and pitching to help you to deliver exceptional work

It’s for ALL PR girls – Fashion, Lifestyle, Hospitality, Entertainment, Travel and general Consumer PR enthusiasts will benefit from the course’s focus on branding, positioning and pitching. Fair warning, if you’re hoping to go into tech, healthcare, sports, automotive or financial PR – this might not be the best fit.
Just like in PR – there are no guarantees. However, former Prismadonnas are now working at top agencies, brands and magazines. Many say the course was more valuable than 4-years of college!
PRISM helps you to clarify your personal brand, strengths and positioning, which are all important parts of branding yourself as a freelance publicist. PRISM will also provide you with templates and examples of the types of things you’ll be creating for clients (pitches, bios, etc) and give you a strategy to build your network. However, PRISM does not focus on building a profitable PR business, ideal client development or small business promotion/fundamentals.
Absolutely not. The course was designed for those just getting started in the real world of PR, which is most often college seniors and recent graduates. However, if you’re looking for career guidance and support, and the course sounds like a fun and worthwhile pursuit – we are happy to welcome in Prismadonnas of all ages.
Yes! The pace of the course was designed to allow for summer school, part or full-time working gals, as well as vacation days (it IS summer after all!). Plus, the course materials are yours to keep no matter what – so you an always jump back into a module if it comes at a busy time!
